Ethical Hiring Policy
Cazini practises ethical hiring. Getting a job through Cazini is always free — and so is keeping one. This policy binds every employer, recruiter and agency that uses Cazini, and everyone acting for them.
No money from candidates or employees — ever
Employers and recruiters on Cazini must never ask, charge or accept money — or anything else of value — from a candidate or employee in connection with a job. That includes, among others:
- Application, registration, CV-review or shortlisting fees
- Interview, assessment, testing or medical-check fees
- Placement, processing, “facilitation” or agency fees for getting the job
- Deposits for uniforms, training, equipment or documents as a condition of being hired
- Payments, gifts or favours to keep a job, get promoted, receive a salary or payslip, or have leave or shifts approved
- Asking candidates to pay a third party (an “agent”, a “consultant”, a training college) as a condition of the job
It applies however the request is made — on Cazini, by email, SMS, WhatsApp, phone or in person — and whoever makes it, including staff, contractors and anyone claiming to represent the employer. Lawful payroll deductions (such as PAYE, NSSF, SHIF and the housing levy) and deductions agreed in a written employment contract are not covered by this rule.
What happens if an employer or recruiter breaks this rule
- Suspension. The employer's Cazini account is suspended as soon as we have a credible report, while we review it. Their job posts are taken down.
- Removal. If the report is confirmed, the employer and the people involved are permanently removed from Cazini.
- Authorities. We may refer the matter to the relevant authorities and cooperate with any investigation.
Candidates and employees: tell us straight away
If anyone asks you to pay to apply, be interviewed, get hired, keep your job or be paid, don't pay. Email info@cazini.co.ke with whatever you have: the employer and job, who asked, what they asked for, and any messages or receipts.
- Reports are handled in confidence.
- You don't need proof to report — we'll look into it.
- Retaliating against someone who reports (by rejecting, demoting or dismissing them) is itself a breach of this policy.
Part of our Terms
This policy forms part of the Cazini Terms of Service. Employers and recruiters accept it when they create an account and each time they post a job.
