About the Job

The HR Officer will manage day-to-day HR operations across the full employee lifecycle, ensure compliance with Kenyan labour law, and act as a trusted partner to staff and management.

Responsibilities

Employee lifecycle and records
Manage the full employee lifecycle: onboarding, contracts, confirmations, transfers and exits.
Maintain accurate employee records and the HR information system.
Recruitment
Coordinate recruitment: job adverts, screening, interview scheduling and offers.
Payroll and statutory compliance
Prepare payroll inputs and ensure timely PAYE, SHIF, NSSF and Housing Levy remittances.
Ensure compliance with the Employment Act and other applicable Kenyan labour laws.
Employee relations and policy
Advise on and handle employee relations matters, disciplinary and grievance processes.
Draft, update and communicate HR policies and procedures.
Performance, learning and benefits
Coordinate performance management cycles, training and development plans.
Administer leave, attendance and employee benefits (medical cover, insurance).
Reporting and engagement
Prepare HR reports and metrics (headcount, turnover, absenteeism) for management.
Support employee engagement and welfare initiatives.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree (Higher Diploma may be considered alongside strong experience)
Human Resource Management, Business Administration, Social Sciences or related field
3+ years in an HR generalist role (consulting or service-industry exposure an advantage)
Higher Diploma / Graduate Certificate in HRM; IHRM (Kenya) membership preferred
