The Sales Executive is a high-performance field growth role responsible for driving infrastructure sales, connectivity expansion, and subscriber growth across Guru Networks and WiFi Guru operations. This is an aggressive execution-focused role designed for individuals who thrive in highly competitive environments and can combine commercial hustle with technical curiosity. The role is responsible for: generating new business opportunities; growing WiFi Guru subscriber numbers within existing sites; penetrating new buildings and commercial territories; converting opportunities into profitable recurring revenue; and maintaining strong operational coordination during onboarding and deployment. The ideal candidate behaves like a territory owner rather than a passive salesperson. This role requires: commercial aggression; resilience under pressure; disciplined follow-through; high responsiveness; and strong ownership mentality. Revenue growth, territory expansion, and execution speed are the core mission of this role.
Responsibilities
- A. Strategic Prospecting & Territory Development
- Active Market Prospecting
- Conduct daily outbound prospecting through cold calling, LinkedIn outreach, physical visits, building visits, industrial park prospecting and relationship-driven networking.
- Territory Intelligence
- Develop strong familiarity with assigned commercial zones, buildings, estates, and business clusters.
- Continuously monitor competitor activity, pricing movements, infrastructure gaps, upcoming developments, and building opportunities.
- Lead Qualification
- Evaluate opportunities against Guru Networks and WiFi Guru target client profiles.
- Prioritize opportunities with strong recurring revenue potential and long-term infrastructure value.
- Pipeline Ownership
- Maintain and actively manage a live opportunity pipeline with visibility into contract renewal windows, decision makers, competitor presence, project status and next-action priorities.
- B. WiFi Guru Site Growth & Subscriber Expansion
- The Business Development Executive shall be directly responsible for increasing subscriber growth and market penetration across existing WiFi Guru sites and managed buildings.
- Responsibilities include:
- increasing active subscriber numbers within existing buildings;
- identifying underperforming sites and proposing growth strategies;
- driving tenant awareness and acquisition campaigns;
- improving tenant conversion rates;
- supporting referral and activation campaigns;
- gathering customer feedback and competitor intelligence;
- and supporting retention initiatives alongside operations teams.
- The role requires ownership mentality toward:
- Monthly Recurring Revenue (MRR);
- site penetration rates;
- customer growth;
- and long-term building performance.
- Each site should be treated as an independent growth territory with measurable expansion targets.
- C. Consultative Selling & Technical Positioning
- Solution Discovery
- Work closely with Network Engineering and Operations teams to understand client pain points and propose appropriate connectivity or infrastructure solutions.
- Connectivity Solutions
- Present and explain Fiber connectivity, Microwave links, Managed WiFi, Structured cabling, Dedicated internet, SD-WAN and infrastructure readiness solutions.
- Value-Based Selling
- Conduct presentations and site visits focused on, uptime reliability, operational responsiveness, scalability, accountability, service visibility and customer experience.
- Demonstrations & Site Walkthroughs
- Coordinate with technical teams to facilitate, technical assessments, demonstrations, proof-of-concept sessions and approved trial deployments.
- D. Negotiation, Closing & Commercial Execution
- Commercial Negotiation
- Handle objections professionally and negotiate within approved commercial frameworks.
- Prioritize profitable recurring revenue and long-term customer value.
- Margin Protection
- Discounts or non-standard pricing may not be approved without written authorization.
- Contract Coordination
- Ensure service agreements, quotations, and onboarding documentation are completed accurately and professionally.
- Sales Velocity
- Maintain urgency throughout the sales cycle and minimize delays between prospecting, meetings, proposal issuance and contract closure.
- E. Client Onboarding & Operational Handover
- Seamless Transition
- Serve as the commercial lead during onboarding and installation coordination.
- Operational Coordination
- Work closely with technicians, project coordinators, network teams and customer support teams to ensure smooth deployment.
- Early Relationship Ownership
- Remain commercially accountable for customer relationship quality during the first thirty (30) days post-installation.
- Post-Installation Follow-up
- Conduct post-deployment check-ins to confirm service quality, gather customer feedback, identify upsell opportunities and request referrals.
- F. Reporting, Accountability & Operational Discipline
- CRM & Pipeline Discipline
- All calls, meetings, visits, opportunities, and follow-ups must be logged accurately in the approved CRM or operational system.
- Work not logged may be treated as work not completed.
- Responsiveness
- High responsiveness is expected.
- Urgent client and internal communications should be acknowledged as quickly as operationally possible, with a target response window of two (2) hours during working hours.
- Weekly Performance Reporting
- Submit weekly reports covering:
- new leads generated;
- physical meetings conducted;
- building visits completed;
- proposals issued;
- contracts signed;
- pipeline value;
- WiFi Guru subscriber growth;
- competitor insights;
- lost opportunities and reasons;
- operational blockers;
- and site performance observations.
Qualifications
- 2–5 year’s experience in:
- ISP sales;
- ICT sales;
- telecommunications;
- infrastructure sales;
- FMCG territory growth;
- or related field-growth environments.
- Technical Curiosity
- Ability to understand and explain:
- Fiber vs Microwave connectivity;
- managed vs unmanaged WiFi;
- uptime and SLA concepts;
- structured cabling basics;
- and connectivity business value.
- Communication
- Strong verbal pitching ability;
- Professional proposal writing;
- Confident relationship building with SMEs, landlords, property managers and enterprise stakeholders.
