About the Job

The Fiber & Infrastructure Projects Engineer is responsible for deploying, maintaining, troubleshooting, and improving physical connectivity infrastructure across Guru Networks and WiFi Guru operational environments. This role is heavily focused on: fiber infrastructure; structured cabling; wireless connectivity deployments; building readiness projects; field operations; and installation quality assurance. The role combines: infrastructure deployment; field operations; project coordination; contractor supervision; and operational troubleshooting. The ideal candidate is highly practical, execution-oriented, and capable of operating effectively in: active deployment sites; residential and commercial buildings; ISP field environments; and customer-facing infrastructure projects. This role is critical to ensuring: clean and scalable deployments; stable customer connectivity; infrastructure reliability; project execution consistency; and operational quality across all Guru Networks and WiFi Guru projects.

Responsibilities

A. Fiber Infrastructure & Structured Cabling Operations
Fiber Deployment Support
Support and coordinate:
FTTH and FTTP deployments;
backbone fiber installations;
drop cable installations;
fiber terminations;
splicing coordination;
and ODF organization.
Structured Cabling
Deploy and maintain:
CAT6/CAT6A copper cabling;
patch panels;
rack organization;
faceplate terminations;
cabinet organization;
and building connectivity infrastructure.
Building Readiness Projects
Participate in:
fiber-ready building deployments;
pathway planning;
riser coordination;
conduit management;
and infrastructure expansion planning.
Testing & Quality Assurance
Conduct:
cable testing;
OTDR testing coordination;
signal verification;
link validation;
and deployment quality inspections.
B. Wireless & Connectivity Infrastructure
Wireless Deployments
Support deployment and maintenance of:
point-to-point wireless links;
point-to-multipoint environments;
rooftop wireless systems;
and customer wireless connectivity infrastructure.
Wireless Troubleshooting
Troubleshoot:
signal instability;
interference issues;
alignment problems;
throughput issues;
and customer connectivity disruptions.
Basic Layer 2 Network Support
Support:
VLAN configuration;
customer provisioning;
switch configuration;
and basic Layer 2 connectivity troubleshooting where required.
C. Project Coordination & Field Operations
Deployment Coordination
Coordinate day-to-day execution of:
fiber rollout projects;
building readiness deployments;
structured cabling works;
wireless installations;
and infrastructure upgrades.
Field Team Supervision
Work closely with:
technicians;
subcontractors;
installers;
and suppliers
to ensure deployments are completed correctly, safely, and on time.
Project Tracking
Track:
deployment progress;
installation quality;
material usage;
blockers;
and escalation points
using approved operational and project management systems.
Quality Assurance
Ensure all deployments meet approved:
infrastructure standards;
labeling standards;
cable management standards;
documentation standards;
and installation quality expectations.
Site Handover
Support successful project closure through:
documentation completion;
testing verification;
issue resolution;
and operational handover coordination.
D. Infrastructure Reliability & Operational Support
Incident Support
Participate in:
outage response;
field troubleshooting;
customer-impacting incident resolution;
and restoration coordination.
Infrastructure Maintenance
Support maintenance and upkeep of:
fiber infrastructure;
wireless equipment;
cabinets and racks;
patch panels;
and related physical infrastructure.
Operational Monitoring
Use approved operational and monitoring systems to:
monitor infrastructure health;
identify recurring issues;
track outages;
and improve operational visibility.
E. Documentation, Accountability & Operational Discipline
Infrastructure Documentation
Maintain accurate and up-to-date:
fiber maps;
rack layouts;
port allocation records;
topology diagrams;
and deployment notes.
Operational Logging
All:
site visits;
deployments;
incidents;
troubleshooting activities;
and infrastructure changes
must be logged accurately within approved operational systems.
Work not documented may be treated as work not completed.
Responsiveness
High responsiveness is expected during:
outages;
field escalations;
and customer-impacting incidents.
Urgent operational communications should be acknowledged as quickly as operationally possible during working hours.
Weekly Operational Reporting
Provide weekly operational updates covering:
deployment progress;
infrastructure risks;
recurring issues;
project blockers;
installation quality observations;
material concerns;
and operational recommendations.

Qualifications

2–5 years hands-on experience in:
fiber deployments;
structured cabling;
ISP operations;
wireless deployments;
or physical connectivity infrastructure environments.
Technical Capability
Practical familiarity with:
FTTH/FTTP deployments;
fiber termination and testing;
structured cabling systems;
wireless bridge systems;
GPON environments;
MikroTik basics;
and physical infrastructure troubleshooting.
Basic Networking Exposure
Basic understanding of:
VLANs;
switching;
Layer 2 connectivity;
and customer provisioning environments.
Operational & Project Coordination Capability
The ideal candidate should demonstrate:
strong field coordination ability;
installation supervision capability;
practical project tracking discipline;
and the ability to maintain operational standards across multiple active deployments simultaneously.
CERTIFICATIONS (ADVANTAGEOUS, NOT ABSOLUTE)
Preferred certifications may include:
MTCNA;
Fiber certifications;
Ubiquiti certifications;
CCNA;
or related infrastructure certifications.
Practical field execution ability and operational reliability are prioritized over certifications alone.
