About the Job

Afya Dynamics is a healthcare-focused organisation committed to delivering quality health services. We are seeking a detail-oriented finance professional to support our accounting and financial reporting.The Accountant will handle daily accounting transactions, reconciliations and statutory filings, and support month-end reporting, budgeting and audits to keep the company’s finances accurate and compliant.

Responsibilities

Accounts payable and receivable
Process supplier invoices, payments and customer receipts accurately, ensuring each transaction is supported by the correct documentation and approvals.
Monitor cash flow and flag payment or collection risks.
General ledger and reconciliations
Maintain the general ledger and post journal entries.
Perform bank, supplier and customer account reconciliations and follow up on unreconciled items.
Maintain organised financial records and supporting documentation.
Tax and statutory compliance
Prepare and submit VAT, PAYE and Withholding Tax returns via KRA iTax.
Support payroll processing and statutory remittances (where required).
Petty cash and expenses
Manage petty cash and staff expense claims in line with policy.
Reporting, budgeting and audit
Support month-end and year-end close and prepare financial reports.
Assist with budget preparation and monitoring of actuals versus budget.
Support internal and external audits and respond to queries.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in a finance-related field (Diploma plus professional qualification considered)
Accounting, Finance, Commerce, Business Administration or related field
2+ years in an accounting / finance role (healthcare or service-sector exposure an advantage)
CPA(K) (Section 4 or above) or ACCA (at least part-qualified); ICPAK membership an added advantage
